Summary
The educational focus of the program will be on improving the recognition of, and decreasing morbidity associated with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

Objectives

  • Understand the historical perspective on the morbidity and mortality associated with RSV and discuss the impact to managed care organizations

  • Review of the characteristics that increase the risk of severe or fatal RSV infection, and strategies for managed care organizations to achieve optimal outcomes

  • Discuss the correlation between RSV and long term consequences

  • Discuss the role of local virology in anticipation of annual epidemics

  • Discuss the practical impact of diagnostic tests

  • Review treatment and formulary considerations for Managed Care
