Goal
The goal of this activity is to provide medical directors from plans, purchasers and provider systems and nurse case managers with appropriate education on personalized medicine and its impact on managed care environments. Participants will be able to:
  • Define personalized medicine, pharmacogenomics and pharmacogenetics

  • Identify the value of personalized medicine in the future of healthcare

  • Describe how personalized medicine is used in determining treatment plans

  • Identify the role of pharmacogenetics testing

  • Describe the impact of pharmacogenetics on patient outcomes and the practice of medicine
