Summary
Colon cancer is an immensely complex disease whose treatment is changing rapidly. The treatment
advances in the past five years have been tremendous. Significant effort is currently ongoing to
determine how to optimally manage each patient. There are frequently updated clinical guidelines to help
guide appropriate treatment decisions but, flexibility must be maintained in order to optimize treatment
for the individual.

Objectives
 Describe the latest therapies in the treatment of colorectal cancer
 Discuss the impact new therapies have on patient outcomes
 Review National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Guidelines for colorectal cancer
